Title:Senior Payroll Implementation Advisor (PSI)
ID:1021
Location:Ontario, Canada
Department:Managed Services
Salary Range:Up to $90,000 CAD (subject to experience) plus 5% bonus
Description

At PSI Payroll Services Inc. (PSI), part of the global IRIS Software Group, we provide high-quality, high-touch payroll services trusted by businesses across North America.

Our clients rely on us for one of their most important responsibilities - paying their people accurately, on time, and in full compliance with Canadian payroll laws.

Every client’s journey with PSI starts with Implementation - and that’s where you come in.

As a Senior Payroll Implementation Advisor, you’ll lead new Canadian clients through the process of setting up their payrolls with PSI.

This is not a payroll processing role. It’s about configuration, compliance, and client partnership.

You’ll use your deep knowledge of Canadian payroll to configure systems, validate data, test results, and guide clients through their first live payroll runs. You’ll also train and support them, ensuring every setup is compliant, accurate, and delivered with care.

Your role directly shapes how new clients experience PSI - and helps build the trust that keeps them with us long-term.

This role can be based anywhere in Ontario, Canada, with a planned start date of November 2025.

Why This Role Matters

  • You make payroll work. You’re the person new clients rely on to get their payroll right, right from the start.
  • You bring compliance expertise. Your knowledge of Canadian payroll rules ensures every setup is accurate across multiple provinces.
  • You shape first impressions. A smooth implementation sets the tone for the entire client relationship.
  • You grow with us. As part of the global IRIS Software Group, you’ll have access to career growth, learning, and development opportunities.

About the Team You'll Join

Our Implementation Team bridges Sales and Operations - turning new client agreements into live, compliant payrolls.

We work closely together, checking data, configuring systems, and walking clients through every step until their payroll runs perfectly. You’ll join a collaborative, supportive team that takes pride in getting things right and making clients feel confident.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Be the main contact for new Canadian clients during onboarding.
  • Lead discovery sessions and perform gap analysis to design the right payroll setup.
  • Configure payroll systems and ensure all company and employee data is accurate.
  • Guide clients through testing, validation, and their first live payrolls.
  • Process initial live runs where needed, ensuring a smooth handover to Operations.
  • Train clients on payroll systems, reports, and best practices.
  • Assess the complexity of new clients to balance workloads effectively.
  • Identify process improvements and share feedback with the Head of Implementation.
  • Support audits, year-end tasks (T4s, RL-1s, ROEs), and special projects.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who knows Canadian payroll inside out - not just how to process it, but how to set it up, configure it, and make it work for clients.

This isn’t a payroll processing role. It’s about implementation, compliance, and systems. You’ll help new clients get their payroll running smoothly, accurately, and in full compliance with Canadian legislation.

To succeed, you’ll bring:

  • Hands-on payroll implementation experience – you’ve set up or configured payroll systems for Canadian clients, not just processed pay runs.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation and compliance, including federal and multi-province rules.
  • Experience working with payroll systems such as ADP, Dayforce, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification (required).
  • Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certification (an asset).
  • A solid understanding of Canadian tax laws, reporting, and employment standards.
  • Excellent data validation and troubleshooting skills – you spot issues quickly and know how to fix them.
  • Project management skills – able to handle multiple clients and priorities at once while keeping everything on track.
  • Confident communication and client-handling skills – you can explain complex topics clearly and calmly.
  • A detail-oriented mindset – you care about accuracy and doing things right the first time.

What You’ll Gain

  • Impact from day one – Help clients feel confident and supported through their first payrolls.
  • Career growth – Develop your expertise and advance within IRIS, a global payroll and HR leader.
  • Specialist knowledge – Deepen your understanding of complex Canadian payroll regulations.
  • A supportive team – Work with colleagues who value accuracy, collaboration, and client success.
  • Competitive salary and benefits – Be rewarded for your experience and expertise.
