Description

CAVU HCM, part of IRIS Software Group, is hiring an Associate Payroll Analyst to join our team in Tallahassee, Florida.

This is a fully onsite role in our Tallahassee office, working Monday to Friday, with a planned start date of November 2025. Most of your day-to-day work will focus on printing, packaging, and shipping payroll documents for external customers. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that sensitive payroll information is accurate, secure, and delivered on time. Alongside this core responsibility, you’ll also have the opportunity to begin learning payroll, with training and mentoring to help you build knowledge for future career growth.

It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys structure, attention to detail, and customer service. Whether you’re looking for a stable, long-term role, switching careers from retail or hospitality, or wanting to grow into payroll over time, this position gives you the chance to make a real impact for businesses and their employees.

About the Team You’ll Join

CAVU HCM provides payroll and HR services to businesses across the United States. We are part of IRIS Software Group, one of the world’s largest privately-owned software companies, trusted by more than 100,000 organizations worldwide. Together, we provide technology and services that help companies manage their most important processes - from paying their people to handling finances and HR.

Our clients rely on us for one of their most critical needs: making sure their employees are paid correctly and on time. Our Managed Payroll Services team in Tallahassee plays a vital role in delivering that promise.

  • We prepare, package, and ship all payroll documents and checks securely to customers.
  • We support customers directly when they have questions or need reassurance.
  • We provide the behind-the-scenes accuracy that builds trust in the payroll process.

When we do our work well, businesses run smoothly, employees have peace of mind, and our customers know they can count on us. This role ensures that trust is upheld every single day.

What You’ll Be Doing – Day to Day

Your time will be split between two key areas:

Printing & Shipping Operations (Main Focus – the majority of your role)

This is where you’ll spend most of your day:

  • Print and package payroll documents - checks, reports, and other sensitive materials. You’ll follow a clear, step-by-step process to make sure everything is done right.
  • Maintain quality and security - payroll data must be treated with the highest confidentiality. You’ll double-check details and follow security procedures carefully.
  • Ship to customers on time - coordinate with delivery partners (UPS, FedEx, USPS) to make sure packages arrive when customers expect them.
  • Monitor supplies - keep an eye on paper, ink, envelopes, and shipping materials, and reorder when stock runs low.
  • Problem-solving - if a shipment gets delayed or an issue arises, you’ll work with vendors and colleagues to put it right quickly.
  • Process improvements - help identify small changes that make printing and shipping faster, smoother, and more accurate.

Payroll Support & Development (Secondary Focus – smaller but important part of the role)

Over time, you’ll also begin to learn how payroll processing works:

  • Assist with payroll setup - enter or update employee details into the system.
  • Support customer inquiries - answer questions over the phone or by email, explaining processes and resolving simple issues with guidance.
  • Learn systems - get hands-on training with payroll software and processes, building confidence step by step.
  • Career growth - as your knowledge grows, you’ll be able to take on more payroll responsibilities and eventually progress into a Payroll Analyst role.

What We’re Looking For

You don’t need previous payroll experience. What’s most important is that you bring the right mindset and transferable skills. Here’s what will help you succeed in this role:

  • Background - Experience in retail, hospitality, shipping, or admin is helpful because you’ll already know how to work with customers, follow step-by-step processes, and stay accurate under time pressure - all skills you’ll use daily when preparing and shipping payroll documents.
  • Attention to detail - Payroll information must be 100% accurate. Even small mistakes in printing, packaging, or shipping can affect whether employees are paid correctly, so being detail-focused is essential.
  • Organization - You’ll often be handling multiple shipments and tasks at once. Being organized helps you keep track of deadlines and make sure nothing is missed.
  • Tech confidence - You’ll use Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and payroll systems every day. Being comfortable with basic technology means you can pick up our tools quickly and work efficiently.
  • Customer focus - We serve external customers who rely on us. Whether you’re answering a question or making sure their documents arrive on time, a helpful, professional approach builds trust and keeps clients happy.
  • Calm under pressure - Payroll has peak periods (like end of month or year-end). Staying steady and reliable during those busy times ensures our clients still get their documents on schedule.
  • Learning mindset - This role is about growth. You’ll start in printing and shipping, but if you’re curious and open to learning, you’ll build payroll knowledge that can grow into a long-term career path.

What You’ll Gain

This role offers more than just a job - it’s a chance to build a meaningful career:

  • Start with IMPACT - most of your work will focus on printing and shipping payroll documents for customers, so you’ll immediately contribute to work that matters.
  • Hands-on learning - step-by-step payroll training from experienced colleagues, giving you knowledge you can build on.
  • Career growth - a clear path from operations into payroll, with opportunities to move into roles like Payroll Analyst.
  • Supportive culture - work onsite in Tallahassee with a collaborative, close-knit team.
  • Work that matters - help businesses pay their employees correctly and on time, directly improving people’s lives.
  • Stability & scale - join IRIS Software Group, a global company with long-term success and ambitious growth.
