Description

The Role:

The role of a PSI Senior Payroll Implementation Specialist will be assisting the Implementation team to onboard new customers to the PSI payroll platform. They will provide guidance and assistance to ensure all required information is collected and entered while ensuring a seamless transition in the client’s payroll process and output reporting requirements. They will be responsible for system maintenance and lead project customization requests from customers. Any future payroll system migration projects will be overseen by this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Creation of the company shell in the payroll software ensuring that all relevant data is collected and entered.
  • Acts as the payroll subject matter expert for all customer/partners.
  • Identify, collect, and upload all relevant year to date values if any.
  • Training the Service Team on the new platform.
  • Training, testing, and validation with the Payroll Specialist before the first 'LIVE' payroll processing run. Maintain audit logs.
  • Audits the payroll system to ensure data integrity and accuracy.
  • Works collaboratively with all stakeholders to manage the implementation project plan.
  • Leads regular progress meetings.
  • Act member of the UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and payroll migration for the entire payroll process including year-end.
  • Process the client payrolls until such time as it can be seamlessly transitioned to the Payroll Specialists.
  • Assist in the development of streamlined data processes and recommend improvements where appropriate.
  • Develop SOPs and training guides.
  • Act as a point of contact with new Customers/Partner while assisting in discovery, gap analysis and solutioning.
  • Works collaboratively with clients and stakeholders to develop an implementation project plan.
  • Leads regular progress meetings.

  • Determine the level of complexity of the new client payroll for distribution purposes.
  • Process the client payrolls until such time as it can be seamlessly transitioned to the Operations team.
  • Assist in the development of streamlined data processes and recommend improvements where appropriate.
  • Provide feedback to the Implementation Manager on the transition of new customers.
  • Assist Management in developing audit procedures to ensure accuracy.
  • Assist in the year end process and perform special tasks as requested by Management.
  • Leads payroll system customization project requests from customers.
  • Responsible for regular system upgrades.
  • Will lead any future payroll system migration projects.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education or equivalent business experience
  • 5 Years work experience in a multiprovincial payroll environment or Payroll Processing Centre. Quebec payroll knowledge required.
  • MUST HAVE Canadian payroll experience, preferably multiple states.
  • Legislative compliance in all jurisdictions.
  • Payroll Compliance Professional (formerly Payroll Compliance Practitioner) Certificate required.
  • Payroll Leadership Professional (formerly Certified Payroll Management) Certificate and relevant work experience (Desired)
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, data management and reporting capability.
